Launching a new national holiday
What better way to celebrate the 100th anniversary of the National Coffee Association than to invite the whole country to take a coffee break? With no media budget, BP created the holiday, used social media to spread the word, and supported it with a website, coffee shop locator app, free downloadable posters, souvenirs and memorabilia.
The holiday was a hit, promoted on almost 200 news programs across the country, and in thousands of tweets. We even turned it into a revenue-generating opportunity by selling sponsored rooms to NCA’s partner organizations.
